Bed Bug Prevention and Extermination

BED BUG EXTERMINATION

Bed bugs can be found from modest homes to the most exclusive hotels and resorts. Any place that humans sit, rest or sleep can be a place where bed bugs are introduced or feed.

Bugs-B-Gone eradicates bed bugs effectively through different methods of treatments; Heat treatments and Liquid Treatments. Our heat treatment is an aggressive treatment that is designed to kill bed bugs in all life stages.

For bed bugs, Bugs-B-Gone provides:

  • Thorough inspections in and around the infested room to locate harborage sites;
  • Liquid treatments, consisting of three treatments, two weeks apart;
  • Heat treatment of infested and potentially infested areas

Bugs-B-Gone can also provide training for housekeeping staff and engineering staff on proactive bed bug measures. This partnership will help ensure that all bed bug infestations are located and effectively eliminated throughout your property. Help protect your reputation, your business and your customers with Bugs-B-Gone.

Bed Bug Basics

Bed bugs get their name because they are commonly found in beds but can also be found in other places where humans spend a lot of time: couches, chairs, and other furniture. Bed bugs can be found in any establishment: hotels, airplanes, even professional offices.

Bed bugs can feed on the blood of any warm-blooded animal but their most common targets are humans because we have a lot of exposed skin for bed bugs to feed off of. While feeding, bed bugs inject the skin with their saliva (this keeps the blood from clotting) and an anesthetic (this keeps the host from feeling the bite and moving). After feeding, bed bugs retreat back to the place of harborage for days or even weeks before coming back out. This can make detection difficult until the infestation is well established.

Bed bugs find their hosts while they are sleeping by detecting body heat, the carbon dioxide from exhaled breath, and other biological signatures. Although they do not spread disease, their bites can become red, itchy welts. Bed bug bite reactions in skin look like those caused by fleas and mosquitoes, making it hard to tell the difference.

The lesser of an infestation, the easier and quicker a bed bug extermination is. It’s important to spot and treat any infestation as early as possible.

BED BUG PREVENTION TIPS

  • Don’t take mattresses or padded furniture that has been left at the curb or on the street.
  • Check your bed sheets for blood spots.
  • Keep your suitcases covered in plastic and off the floor when you travel.

When you check into a hotel, check the mattress, headboard, bed frame and pictures for any signs of bed bugs.
